​​ABOUT US

​The original reason this organization was founded is that a fellow member and soldier wanted to throw a Christmas party for some kids at a shelter. So we got together to plan this party and it grew from there. The feeling I got from helping with something as simple as a party to bring joy to others made me want to continue helping those who have less and bring a little happiness to their lives. Volunteering is an honor to me because it is nothing like the giving of yourself because you want to and not because someone had to ask you. I feel that's from your heart and the passion is way deeper than just going to work. I am doing something to help people in need and I feel that's a great thing that money can't buy.  My military experience played a good role in working with this organization. In the military, I was a sergeant my job was to ensure that the soldiers I was in charge of were prepared for the mission and that would consist of ensuring what equipment you need to training so they could complete the mission. I also had to come up with ways to work with all the soldiers' different personalities and operate as one team to get the job done.

​Brooklyn Vets 4 Kids consist of Military Veterans who served in different wars together.  Whether it was Desert Storm, Operation Iraq Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.  Together they wanted a way to give back to their community and supports kids at the same time.
